Why do you need a certificate qualification?
Since ACCI pioneered formal carpet cleaning education in Australia, carpet cleaners have always wanted to go one step further with the introduction of government recognised qualifications and/or licensing so as to eliminate the confusion in the industry between the ‘cowboys’ and the truly qualified.
The PRM20604 Certificate II and PRM30604 Certificate III in Asset Maintenance Carpet Cleaning represent that long awaited move by the government to formally recognise the carpet cleaning industry with its own national qualification.
Without wanting to denigrate the quality or standing of privately run non – government courses there is no doubt that the marketing value and community perception of government recognised credentials is far superior.
Remember the ‘cowboys’ will never be able to walk in off the street and get a certificate qualification. They still have to prove they have qualifications before they can be assessed so it’s just going to make it even harder for them to survive, particularly when the real estate and insurance industry starts demanding contractors must have government certification before they can get work or even an insurance policy.
The future for the industry is now set with a meaningful government certification that can only benefit your business credibility, your future marketing and your long term viability. The value of government certification cannot be overstated. I therefore strongly encourage every carpet cleaner in Australia to take up the opportunity to be truly qualified in your industry with these courses.
Do your previous qualifications count towards these certificates?
If you have evidence of the courses you have previously completed with ACCI or another training provider we will consider you for recognition of prior learning. All ACCI courses have been designed for compliance.
